The IACC Department of Jewish Renewal seeks to develop and enrich Israeli-Jewish culture in communities throughout Israel, in line with the IACC's vision to promote a just and egalitarian civil community. The department operates in cooperation and partnership with various government and municipal offices and organizations in Israel and around the world.
Jewish Renewal programs aim to:
Promote a sense of belonging to Jewish-Israeli culture.
Make the wealth of Jewish heritage available and accessible, from a pluralistic standpoint.
Raise consciousness to the heritage of Jewish culture.
Promote the dialogue between old and new, and between diverse groups in the community.
Strengthen social solidarity between different faiths, opinions and streams, surrounding the Jewish cycle of life.
To achieve these goals, IACC Jewish Renewal programs include training of professional teams and lay leadership, development and production of innovative educational materials, hosting of events following the Jewish and Israeli year cycle, Development of a professional organizational ethics based on Israeli-Jewish values, and more.
International Relationships & Global Connections
In order to create meaningful and sustainable relationships aimed to strengthen the sense of Klal Israel, the IACC organizes study visits, develops JCC-to-JCC relationships, and supports and nurtures the development of meaningful mutual partnerships between JCCs worldwide. The IACC seeks to connect each of its community centers in Israel to at least one fellow JCC partner (outside of Israel).
The IACC aims to develop and promote training in the field of communal service with its international partners. Establishing and nourishing global connections, learning from others and sharing experiences through expert exchange visits, staff seminars and exchange programs for professional leaders and youth have proven to be effective and rewarding for organizational capacity building. The IACC cooperates with several worldwide organization, including: WCJCC - World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers, WCJCS - World Council of Jewish Communal Service, IFS - International Federations of Settlements and IB - Internationaler Bund, Germany.
The IACC is grateful to the UJA Federation of New York and Legacy Heritage for its generous support and strategic planning of IACC's Jewish Renewal programming.
